Apple sued for a million dollar for price cut-off

Friday, October 5th, 2007

A New York iPhone user is so enraged with Apple’s $200 cut-off on iPhone that the she is suing Apple Inc for 1 million dollar(£490,000).Just after 15 days of price cut, Dongmei Li of New York filed a lawsuit in federal court in NY.Dongmei Li claimed the company violated price discrimination laws when it slashed the price of the 8-gigabyte iPhone by a third, from $599 to $399, within two months of the gadget’s June debut. She has accused Apple for price discrimination, discrimination in offering rebates versus credits, underselling, and unfair and deceptive practices, among other charges.Amongst the early buyers of iPhone she wasnt expecting the price to fall insuch extend after just 68 days to phone’s release.Even though Company has offered $100 credit for early buyers she still doesnt look pleased as for those who bought after two week of release were given $200 as compensation. It doesnt fit correct for suing while Apple didnt force them to buy. From my sight, for who think selling the phone in short period after buying then it doesnt make sense.Just buying phone and resaling to make a profit seems some kind of stupidity.Though Ms Li thinks its right to sue for a million dollars i prefer her to buy atleast 1000+ iPhones which will make a sane sue.:) Its right said by Benjamin Franklin for people like Ms Li

For those that give up Liberty to have temporary Security deserve Neither….

A new name to iPhone Rivals

Friday, October 5th, 2007

Since the day of its release iPhone was taking mobile market to next level. With its cool looks and cutting edge features you would have expected it go on high. While many mobiles players have tried to cut iPhone sales a new name is added to iPhone rivals.Samsung and Danish design firm Bang and Olufsen announced their latest collaboration .The phone is named Serenata and was released on Tuesday.Serenata comes with an inbuilt 4GB memory , a 2.26 inch touch screen LCD display and a navigation wheel first of its kind on Samsung mobile.A unusual built for the phone was seen as screen was in place were we usually have keypads. The navigation wheel was above the screen which didn’t seem to be looking fabulous but sure a different look.Samsung still feels that they can match to level of iPhone and stands a chance to beat their rivals. If Serenata features better network, faster data transfer and easy keypads it makes a better chance to survive the PDA market. Many phones do have taken iPhone rivalry to next level like the one with HTC but iPhone have still managed to keep its head high.Version’s new LG phone is also in league with iPhone rivals. They have declared saying that they will literally kill iphone sales and end iphone legacy(we will have a post on that one too.).With such colossal race between iPhone rivals its seems very ambitious for Samsung. The handsets will go on sale by end of October.Phone’s pricing is yet to be done but we at least can expect to be less than iPhone :)

Cell Phone Unlocking

Friday, June 22nd, 2007

If you have purchased a cell phone that you really like, know how to use, and you consider an investment you don’t have to sell it or buy a new one just because you don’t want to stick with the same cell phone provider.  Instead, you need an unlock code that will allow you to use your phone with any service, or SIM card.  While the phone is yours, many cell phone providers lock their phones, so that you cannot use the phone with any other service provider.

There are two basic ways to unlock cell phone devices.  Many times you will have a cell phone that can be unlocked by entering a code into it.  The code is unique to your phone and is linked to the serial number of the phone.  This code can be purchased for as little as $5 and when you enter it into your phone it will become unlocked and you can travel internationally or switch cell phone providers.

Other phones require that you unlock service or their operating system, basically the operating system has to be rewritten to remove the lock.  If you have this type of phone you will need to connect it via a data cable to a programming unit.  This is a bit more expensive, but if you are attached to the phone it is worth it and this can be done quite easily and affordably.  Cell phones these days such as a Treo or a Blackberry are an investment, so it makes sense that you want to hold onto it and unlock it under any circumstances.  If you have a phone that you consider disposable, you may want to simply buy a new phone if you don’t want to pay more than $5 for an unlock code.

Sony Walkman mobile phone - Sony Ericsson W850i

Friday, April 27th, 2007

The Sony Ericsson W850i is another great innovation by Sony. You get a wealth of features, not to mention great performance. Like other Sony mobile phones, there are certain downfalls to the scheme.

First, you will notice this is a ’slider’ phone, which has become quite popular in the design of mobile phones. The design is fairly sturdy, and keeps up quite well. However, the navigation is rather lacking. The buttons are rather large, with some buttons rather hard to get to unless you have fairly long nails. The ‘OK’ button can be rather hard to press at times, until you grow accustomed to the design, which will take time.

Still, the phone offers many features aside from the navigational problem. Standard Bluetooth, MP3 player, and great battery life make this phone still worth having. It has support for USB which makes it a great addition to any computer-savvy mobile phone user’s inventory.

The phone is primarily used for its media features as it holds the Walkman brand name. You will find a great FM radio, MP3 player, and many other options to feed your media hunger but the very small memory card will slow you down. It is almost required to upgrade to a large memory card to use this mobile phone for a media center.

The camera included is above average, a full 2 mega-pixels. This lets you take great shots, better than most other mobile phones and about as good in quality as many digital cameras. This is a major plus for the phone, who boasts a great media experience. You can compose your own ring tones on the phone, and play games in a Java environment, making passing the time rather easy. Calling quality is great, as it should be as it uses the latest tri-band technology that enables you to get even fewer dropped calls.

Overall, this is a great media mobile phone. The media options are staggering, although you will definitely need to upgrade your memory a few notches. The biggest let down is the navigation scheme but you will eventually learn to use it if you can look past it. The mobile phone has a rather steep price but for many it is worth it. The high battery life and myriad of features makes this a great buy. If you are the media hungry type, and don’t mind a little extra learning curve, this phone is great for you, just make sure you get a memory upgrade.
